What age does my child have to be to attend Galway Steiner Kindergarten?
We can offer places to children from 2.5 years up. At the moment we have children attending from 2.5 years ups to 5.5 years. Following Steiner Kindergarten practice, a mixed age group has lovely advantages for both older and younger children.
Will my child be eligible for the free pre-school years?
Yes, children can avail of the free pre-school years (ECCE funded years) at Galway Steiner Kindergarten. Additional information on this scheme can be found here.
What is the CCS scheme?
The CCS scheme is the Community Care Subvention (CCS) programme for families on low income. Additional information on this scheme here (for CCS bands see here).
What are your opening times?
Our opening times are 9:30am to 1:00pm, Monday to Friday. We are not open over the summer months and our holiday dates follow pretty much those of the school calendar.
What will my child need to attend Galway Steiner Kindergarten?
Your child will need appropriate gear to be outside for their daily walk and outside activities and a warm pair of slippers to wear inside. During the winter, outside gear usually includes wellies, dungarees, raincoat, hat and gloves worn over warm clothing.
Do you provide food at Galway Steiner Kindergarten?
Yes, every day we provide an organic warm meal which has been freshly cooked in the morning. A different grain (rice, barley, millet, spelt and oats) is offered with fresh fruit, seeds, nut butter or maple syrup. Once a week, a vegetable soup is also served. Children are offered a herbal tea to drink and water.
What do I need to do to enroll my child at Galway Steiner Kindergarten?
You need to drop an email to galwaysteiner@gmail.com containing your child’s full name, date of birth and the date you wish your child to start.
